New additions

We've been isolating with the best of them. An introvert's dream come true. Lumberjack dashes out every now and again to the grocery store. He won't let me go anywhere since I'm high risk. We're very lucky to have 10 acres. We can go outside and still be isolated which is the only reason we've survived with four kids and only an 1100 sq ft house. Of course there's plenty of chores and animals to take care of when it's not snowing.

This morning we got a call from the post office. Our chicks had arrived. Lumberjack jumped in the car and picked them up.

We now have 25 baby chicks in the brooder in the garage.  The kids are so excited.

I have to admit. They are pretty cute.

All of them were alive at arrival and we're hoping to keep them that way until they're grown. They're hard to count what with the moving and all. I think they're might be 26. Bonus chicken!

We'll be getting a couple turkeys, also, but they won't come for a few weeks.

We've been discussing this since fall but maybe this is the homesteaders version of panic buying?

All in all we're doing pretty well on our mountain. Hope you are all the same.
