Fast forward

Lumberjack could also be known as Star Wars Nerd and those posts were fun ones we did for the family along the way. The house is now almost done. So close in fact that we're moving this week. There will still be bits to finish up along the way, but we can do it from the comfort of our own home. I'll leave you with this bit of our progress over the last 9 or so months. You can look at it and think of us lugging all our boxes of books.

This summer the grasses will grow back, the flowers bloom and we'll be loving life. Hope you all have a great week!

Tree Wars Episode VI

Return of the Builder

So we finally closed on our construction loan (July 2016, only 4 months behind schedule) and the builder came up and got started. This is pretty much the same location as I took the photo in Episode II. You can see a stake on the right hand side that will be the back right corner of the house.

We have been pretty blessed so far. No bedrock so no blasting. The soil is so good the engineer said we don't need as big of a septic system as originally feared. We have enough fill dirt that we may not need to bring any in to fix the road. The driveway which was pushing a 10% grade in the plan (10% is the limit allowed by the county) is actually more like 7%.

Tree wars Episode V

The Environment Strikes Back

So this was result of the late spring storm that we had at the end of April 2016. We had about 3 feet of snow that fell in 18 hours. It put pretty much everything on hold as far as working at the property. Lots of snow days to look forward to in the future I guess.

Moving from left to right you can see: a 5 foot high wood pile with our trailer in front of it, the Mustang (which appears to be nothing but a pile of snow), and our cat shelter back in the trees.

Okay, so mostly you see snow. All those things are there, buried. I promise.
